Jan Urban for "Rzeczpospolita": If Robert Lewandowski is healthy, we will send him a call-up

I've spoken with Robert and I know he wants to return to the national team. As soon as he's healthy, we'll call him up.

We are discussing who will be the captain?

This is a situation that needs to be clarified. I'm discussing this with the players directly and by phone, not with everyone, as there are both younger and older players in the squad. Everything will be decided before the September training camp, and whoever I choose will be the permanent captain.

There is a problem with strikers: Arkadiusz Milik is returning from injury, Krzysztof Piątek went to play in Qatar, and the leading PKO BP Ekstraklasa clubs have foreigners playing in this position.

Last season, 36-year-old Piotr Wlazło of Stal Mielec was the top scorer among Poles. Unfortunately, that's the situation, and we have to deal with it. On top of that, Robert is now injured. Let's hope he recovers and plays in September.

We already have it in mind, but we're still working out the details, as we need to be prepared for various scenarios in these matches. We're discussing this with our coaching staff, but above all, we want as many of our players as possible to play for their clubs. This would provide us with the information we need to select the optimal lineup, and unfortunately, Poles don't always play for foreign teams.
